About Brandie Nere

I approach therapy with a holistic, eclectic view, and feel that the process is most effective when the client participates in their therapy. It is my job to provide a safe environment to build a trusting relationship for my clients so they are able to focus on their goals and treatment plan. This collaborative, therapeutic relationship encourages wellbeing, personal development, and vulnerability. Therapy with me is a journey toward grounding and self-trust. It takes a great leap of faith and courage to explore counseling, and I welcome the opportunity to explore that with you should you choose that. I feel treatment is best utilized with approaches that are based on effective research studies and have high evidence-based techniques, which is what I use in therapy. Together we can work towards a brighter tomorrow and future.

My areas of specialty include childhood trauma, grief, self-growth/empowerment. I also have a wide range of experience in depression, anxiety, and PTSD. I do work from a trauma informed lens, am part of and enjoy working with LGTBQ+ and aging/disabled populations. I am sex and kink positive. As a therapist I also identify as a Highly Sensitive Person (HSP) and respect the unique traits in people and how to support them, in the therapeutic journey. These traits include but are not limited to embracing sensitivity, setting healthy boundaries, developing emotional awareness and celebrating strengths.
I will always strive to understand and educate myself beyond my scope, however, I will also refer out for issues beyond my expertise if needed. I welcome and affirm the experience of individuals of all genders, sexual orientations, races, spiritual beliefs, body sizes, and abilities.

Prior to and during my educational career, I served as a Washington State Certified Peer Counselor working with individuals with mental health and homelessness. Prior to that I was working with people who have developmental differences, for almost two decades.

I currently hold a B.A. in Social Sciences from WSUV, majoring in Human Development, minoring in Sociology, giving me well rounded knowledge in birth to end of life, as well as individual to group societal developments. I have a Master of Education in Counseling and Human Development from Lamar University. Social services is a passion of mine, and I look forward to working with you.
